It wasn’t too bad, just took quite a while. There was a shuttle bus from the plane to airport arrivals. It took a good while to get boarded and it was a bit of a drive, took about 30 mins in total from landing to arriving at passport control.
There is a newly built train line that connects the airport to the North (central) train station in Bucharest in 20 minutes. There are also buses that run all night, going from the airport to Piata Romana, Piata Universatatii, finishing at Piata Unirii.
