At Terminal 1 of Porto Airport, passport control offers both electronic gates and fast manual checks with friendly service, making the process relatively smooth for most travelers. It's important to note that if you're departing, the layout of the passport checking area may cause some confusion, as there are separate lines for Schengen IDs and other passports. Travelers with Schengen passports should be aware that their line is often shorter, so it can be worthwhile to check the front of that queue. Overall, travelers rate this experience at 7/10, indicating that while it is generally efficient, there may still be occasional delays during peak times.

Very easy - electronic gates and then a quick manual human check. Friendly service.
Be aware that if you are departing, the passport checking area is not well designed: there are two lines, one for Schengen ID's and another one for all the other passports. Usually, there's a long line but go to the front if you have a Schengen passport or ID because is usually the case that that line is empty.
