At Terminal 1, the Passport Control area at Porto Airport offers a generally efficient experience for travellers. Electronic gates facilitate a quick passage, followed by a brief manual check by friendly staff. When departing, be mindful that the layout may cause confusion: there are two distinct lines—one for Schengen IDs and another for all other passports. The Schengen line often has shorter wait times, so if you have a Schengen passport, it's advisable to approach the front of that queue.

Crowdsourced tips for Passport Control at Porto Airport - Terminal 1
Very easy - electronic gates and then a quick manual human check. Friendly service.
Be aware that if you are departing, the passport checking area is not well designed: there are two lines, one for Schengen ID's and another one for all the other passports. Usually, there's a long line but go to the front if you have a Schengen passport or ID because is usually the case that that line is empty.
